Real Stories. Raw Streets. True Crime.

Editorial Standards

Evil Streets Media is committed to accuracy, transparency, and responsible reporting. This page explains how we research, write, verify, and correct our content.

Research Methodology

Every article published on Evil Streets Media is based on primary and secondary sources including federal court records and indictments, state and local court documents, newspaper archives from publications such as the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun, and others, law enforcement press releases and reports, published books and documentaries, and historical records where applicable. We do not publish claims that cannot be traced to at least one documented source.

Source Standards

We prioritize court records and law enforcement documents as our most reliable sources because they represent official findings subject to legal scrutiny. Where we rely on news reports, we seek corroboration from multiple outlets where possible. Uncorroborated rumors or street accounts are not published as fact. When information is disputed or uncertain, we say so explicitly in the article.

Fact-Checking Process

All articles are reviewed by the editor before publication. Names, dates, locations, and criminal charges are cross-referenced against available court documents and news archives. Articles about living individuals are handled with particular care to ensure accuracy. We do not publish accusations without documented legal basis.

AI Disclosure

Evil Streets Media uses AI-assisted tools as part of its editorial workflow. Specifically, our founder Markus Kane uses AI tools to help transcribe, structure, and draft articles based on his original research and video scripts. All content is reviewed, edited, and approved by Markus Kane before publication. The facts, subjects, and editorial direction of every article originate from human research and judgment, not AI generation. We believe in transparency about this process and are committed to ensuring that AI assistance enhances rather than replaces editorial quality and accountability.

Corrections Policy

Evil Streets Media is committed to correcting errors promptly. If you believe an article contains a factual error, contact us at evilstreetsmedia@gmail.com with the specific claim you believe is incorrect and any supporting documentation. Verified corrections will be made to the article and noted at the bottom of the piece. We do not silently delete or alter articles without acknowledgment.

Editorial Independence

Evil Streets Media is an independently owned publication. Our editorial decisions are not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, or outside parties. Advertising revenue through Google AdSense helps support the site but has no bearing on the subjects we cover or how we cover them.

Content Purpose

The purpose of Evil Streets Media is historical documentation and public interest journalism. We cover organized crime, street history, and true crime because these stories are part of American history and deserve to be told accurately. We do not glorify criminal activity. Our goal is to document, contextualize, and preserve these histories for readers who want to understand the forces that shaped American cities and communities.
